Method
- Step 1: Peel the ripe bananas and place them together with the milk into a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Step 2: Pour the banana-milk mixture into a pot. Add sugar and corn cookies (crumbled or whole, as preferred).
- Step 3: If desired, stir in the vanilla extract for a warm aroma.
- Step 4: Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly to prevent burning. After a few minutes, the mixture will thicken and become creamier.
- Step 5: Remove the pot from the heat and let the dessert cool briefly.
- Step 6: Distribute the cream into small bowls or a large baking dish.
- Step 7: Refrigerate the dessert for at least 2 hours to set well.
- Step 8: Before serving, dust the no-bake banana dessert with cinnamon or garnish with crumbled cookies for the finishing touch.
Notes
Make it creamier by replacing some milk with cream. Add chopped nuts or chocolate pieces for extra crunch. Mix in fresh berries or mango for a fruity upgrade. Add a splash of rum or amaretto for a special twist. For a chocolate version, add cocoa powder to the cream. Store leftovers covered in the fridge for 2-3 days. Perfect also as a no-bake cake filling.
